To the Washakie #1 Community:
By now you may have heard on the news that universities and K-12 schools across the country have been impacted by a data breach involving Canvas, the Learning Management System (LMS); all Canvas sites appear to have been shut down. The Wyoming Cyber Assistance Response Effort (CARE) Team is aware of, and is monitoring, the situation.
As a precautionary measure, District and Building Administrators will guide students through the password reset process, with brief lessons on Data Privacy and Online Safety measures. As new information comes in we will let you know.

Let us help ease that burden and give your child the opportunity to enjoy a fun, safe, and confident summer in the water.
Stop by the Worland Aquatic Center today to see if you qualify. While you are there, check out the dates and times to schedule your child's lesson.

Teamwork in a triathlon might sound a little strange at first—after all, isn’t it just one person voluntarily choosing to swim, bike, and run until their legs question every life decision? But triathlons are actually a great example of teamwork, proving that even individual sports require plenty of support, encouragement, and maybe someone reminding you where you left your bike.
Before race day, teamwork starts in training. Some athletes train solo, while others work out in groups—sharing miles, pacing each other, and providing motivation like, “You’ve got this!” or “Only 10 more miles!” (which somehow never feels encouraging at the time).
In relay triathlons, teamwork becomes even more obvious. One person swims, one bikes, and one runs—basically dividing the suffering equally. Each teammate specializes in their event, and success depends on both individual effort and smooth transitions… or at least remembering whose turn it is next.
This year, we’ll have seasoned athletes chasing personal bests, first-time participants wondering, “Whose idea was this?”, and plenty of competitors tackling the full event just to prove they can.
Of course, teamwork isn’t just for athletes. Behind every race is an incredible crew of coaches, organizers, volunteers, and community supporters working hard to keep everyone safe, hydrated, and moving in the right direction. Without them, triathlons would basically just be confused people swimming, biking, and running around aimlessly.
After the race, teamwork lives on through shared stories, celebrating victories, comparing sore muscles, and proudly showing off medals while walking funny for the next three days.
So grab your friends, your family, or at least someone willing to cheer for you, and join this year’s BIG HORN CHALLENGE TRIATHLON—where teamwork makes the dream work… and occasionally helps you remember where the finish line is.

Or maybe you have that friend who never stops talking:
“I could beat you at that.”
“I’d definitely do it faster than you.”
“You got lucky last time.” 🤨
Well… now it’s time to settle it once and for all. 🫵
Sign up today for our Big Horn Challenge Triathlon and finally silence the family trash talk, humble your overconfident best friend, or prove to your spouse who really runs the show.
Compete solo, go head-to-head, or build a team if your whole friend group suffers from a severe case of “I’m better than you syndrome.” 💪🦸🦸♂️🦸♀️
Bragging rights are on the line. 😆
