On Saturday, May 2, White Hawk student Hailey Hartley competed in a “Figure-8” race in Thermopolis. A few classmates came to cheer her on. Hailey won one of her heats and went on to the next one with confidence and support from her classmates. White Hawk students on a recent whitewater rafting trip on the Shoshone River in Cody. Sam Decker is going to college in Laramie. He's going to continue studying Applied Science and get his Diesel Certification. He received $6,560 from scholarships. Cherokee is going to the University of Montana Western to continue her major in Early Childhood Education. She received $15,753 from scholarships. | Grace Vickers is going to CWC; she will be majoring in social science and she is studying history. She will also minor in art. Kayden Emrick plans on enrolling in an electrician program. Caroline is going to Casper College, and she will be studying health science. She received $2,360 from scholarships. Angelica Carlson will attend Eastern Wyoming College where she will be majoring in Vet Tech. |

Missing.Murdered.Indigenous.Women

The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) crisis is a long-standing emergency, involving high rates of violence, kidnapping, and murder against Indigenous women in the U.S. May 5th is the recognized day of awareness. The red hand across the mouth represents the silenced voices of Native women who tried to speak out and spread awareness.
Monty Arthur is a student at White Hawk and is a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe. On May 5th, he presented a slideshow to staff and students about the importance of (MMIW).
Mrs. Vickers, Grace, and Ms. Kirby participated by wearing red and painting a red hand across their mouths.
