Student Spotlights Angelica Carlson-Runyan is a senior at White Hawk Academy. Her goal after high school is to get a job that involves working with animals. She also wants to get a house with her friends, and she’s researched ways to manage money more efficiently. Something that Angelica would like to achieve this year is making more connections with people that will help her later in life. This year she has become more confident and secure in herself. Someone she looks up to is Mrs. Vickers because she's smart, kind, open-minded, generous, and understanding. Angelica hopes to be just like her when she's older.
Morgan Yeager is a junior at White Hawk Academy. Her goal after high school is to become a vet tech. Going to White Hawk has opened up more opportunities, which has helped her. The most important lesson Morgan has learned throughout her life is to not rush through anything because it doesn't help you, nor does it help your grades. Something from her childhood that she's grateful for is having both her parents there supporting her. Someone who Morgan looks up to is her older sister because her sister is strong, because she got the job she always wanted. Morgan admires how her sister set a career goal and accomplished it. | White Hawk Academy By: Hilda Ramirez Lily Campbell Morgan Yeager Monty Arthur
White Hawk students visited WHS to attend the career fair. Students Lily and Morgan are pictured above, waiting in line for Banner Health. Academics In sociology class, groups of students presented on different famous sociological experiments. For example, a group of students researched the Stanford Prison experiment and another group researched the blue eyes/brown eyes classroom experiment. The students researched the methods and findings in the experiments. Then they were asked to relate it to present times.

Team Building White Hawk students and staff traveled to Antelope Butte for a team-building day. White Hawk students got the opportunity to try skiing, or they could hang out at the lodge. The students who attempted to ski had an enjoyable time and the other students who stayed behind at the lodge played games and stayed warm.
New Students At the beginning of the new semester, White Hawk welcomed a couple of new students. These students were interviewed to ask for their take on White Hawk so far. One student responded with, “It is a very caring environment and understanding, more calm.” Another new student said it was quiet at White Hawk. The students were also asked, "Do you feel welcomed?” Both of the new students feel welcomed. They both have confirmed that their grades have improved since their time at White Hawk, and finally, the last question in the interview was, “Why did you choose to come to White Hawk?“ Both of the students' answers were similar; they both wanted to try school in a different environment and to excel in their last years of high school.
