A Message to Our Washakie County School District #1 Families

We know that many families in our community are facing uncertainty with the recent news about SNAP benefits. Please remember that we are a community that supports one another.

Our top priority is ensuring that every student has access to nutritious meals so they can focus on learning. Even if you were not previously eligible, a change in family circumstances may qualify you for free or reduced-price school meals.

We encourage you to fill out an application today. The process is confidential and easy to complete.
• You can pick up an application at any school or the Central Office (1900 Howell Avenue)

Dear South Side Families,

As I'm sure your students continuously remind you, Halloween is coming! It is one of my favorite holidays, and Worland does such a great job of creating opportunities for safe trick-or-treating. For the elementaries, we want to celebrate with our kids as well, but we also want to honor October 31 as a learning day. For this reason, we ask that you send your students to school in regular clothing just like any school day. We would then ask that you would send your student's costume in a bag or in their backpacks because we are definitely going to celebrate with classroom parties.
Again, we LOVE a good school celebration, but we also want our kids to give supreme effort in their learning activities especially during the morning. With your help, we know we can achieve both! Thanks for your help as always!

Just a reminder- no Pokemon cards or toys should be brought to school; issues have come up from such items. Unfortunately students are sneaking them in their backpack.
